About Us

Oak & Iron was founded by Robert Whittaker, Sr. in 1989. Hand crafted cabinets and closets are built to perfection. Robert enjoys the delicate craftsmanship of building and sculpting to fit every individual's vision. Robert and his wife Joyce reside in Georgia and raised three kids, Caitlin, Robert, Jr. and Lainey. Robert Jr. and his wife, Jennifer now oversee operations at Oak & Iron.

We left the corporate world to pursue the family business of woodworking while making handcrafted pieces to fit your home and style. Robert, a native of Georgia met Jennifer, a native of Pennsylvania in 2018; they married in 2022 in Pine Mountain, Georgia. 
We raise two children, Skyler and Makinzy. In our spare time, we enjoy traveling the globe, kayaking, hiking, camping, and playing with our four dogs, Summit, Athena, Herman, and Scout, who you are sure to see while visiting our shop. They enjoy lots of treats and scratches, be sure to stop in and say hello!
